The Office of Experience Is One of Chicago’s Best Places to Work

CHICAGO—April 12, 2021— The Office of Experience (OX), a Chicago-based design and digital innovation agency, was named one of Chicago’s Best Places to Work by Crain’s Chicago Business. The seven-year-old agency placed 49th among the 100 companies honored.

“This distinction has special significance to us,” said OX co-founder Carlos Manalo. “We opened our doors here and want to pay forward the success that we’ve achieved, to build on Chicago’s reputation for innovation and creative thinking, as well as to create the best environment possible for our employees to grow, thrive and do the best work of their lives while having a good time doing it.”

In partnership with Best Companies Group, Crain’s surveyed thousands of employees on the types of working conditions, benefits and corporate culture that make a company a great place to work. To be considered for participation, companies had to:

  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business, or government entity
  • Have a facility in the Chicago area (including the counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake in Illinois, Lake in Indiana, McHenry or Will)
  • Have a minimum of 25 full-time or part-time employees working in Chicago
  • Have been in business a minimum of one year

Determining the list and ranking number of the Best Places to Work in Chicago involved a two-step process. The first step evaluated OX’s workplace policies, practices and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to assess experiences and attitudes with respect to working at OX. Combined scores determined the best companies and the final ranking.

“We didn’t create OX to win an award,” said OX co-founder Stratton Cherouny. “We set out to create the kind of company that we would want to be a part of and hoped others would, too. We’re thrilled to be recognized by Crain’s for what so many OXers have felt from day one.”

OX celebrates its seventh anniversary this year, since opening its doors in 2014. OX continues to prove themselves as a best-in-class midsized agency with world-class strategy, design and technology that helps organizations transform their brand into experiences.
